How To Stop Pit Bull Fighting ?

A method known as "break stick" was developed and is used specifically for Pit Bull fights. The method of break stick is quite effective, however, other safer methods for stopping a Pit Bull fight should also be attempted to minimize injury. However, there are others ways of stopping Pit Bull fighting, and some of them are highlighted below.

Clapping - Shout at the dogs while clapping. This method can be used to stop fights which are in initial stage.
Pouring of water - Spray the dogs with a garden hosepipe. The high pressure of the water is often more effective than just pouring water.

Holding of dogs from behind and pulling away - There should be two people for this method. Position yourself behind each dog and grab it by its hind legs. Lift dogs’ legs to the maximum and pull them away in different direction. Then move around slowly in a circle so that the dogs have to side step with their fore legs. This will also lessen the chances of the dogs turning around to bite one another.

Use of break stick - Let one person stand behind one dog and take hold of its hips firmly, so that the dog cannot run away. Holding the collar, stand at the side of the dog and put in a one-inch thick break stick towards the end of the dog's molars. Turn the break stick so that the dog is forced to readjust its bite and transfer all the bite force to the stick rather than the other dog. Once the bite forced is adjusted, pull away the dog.
