Types Of Owl Monkeys

Owl monkeys which are most commonly known as night monkeys belong to the New World Primates. They are widely spread in the forests of South and Central America. They are even called as genus which means earless. Though these monkeys do have ears but their external ears are quite tiny as well as hard to see. They have brown eyes which are really big and this is the reason they have increased capacity to remain active even at the night time.

Night monkeys, or the owl monkeys, have different varieties of vocal sounds that have up to 8 categories of different calls. They do not have color vision perhaps because that does not make any sense for them as they are provided with the nocturnal habits. They rather have a great resolution power at very low light levels as compared to other primates that helps them in terms of their ability of capturing insects and finally moving at the night time.
