Julia Roberts is one of the most talented and successful actresses of the Hollywood industry. She was born on 28th October, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her family comprises of her now-divorced parents, father, Walter Grady Roberts and mother, Betty Lou Bredemus. Julia’s dad was a salesman of vacuum cleaners, writer of Scottish, Welsh and Irish extractions as well as an actor. Her mother was also an actress and worked as a church secretary too. Walter was of an English-Scottish descent from his mother’s side, while Betty Lou was Minneapolis-born.
Julia has two siblings in Eric Anthony Roberts and Lisa Roberts Gillan. Both the siblings have made their career in acting, much like Julia. In fact, Eric was the two-time golden Globe Awards and one-time Academy Awards nominee for his films, King of the Gypsies (with which he debuted) in 1978 and Runaway Train in the year 1985. Julia was once estranged from Eric due to certain reasons but they are believed to have reunited recently.
Lisa also appeared in movies like I Love Trouble, Runaway Bride, Maid in Manhattan, Monalisa Smile and Raising Helen, some of the films in which, younger sister, Julia Roberts enacted the lead role. She briefly turned producer too with the film called, Nothing to Lose in 1997.
Eric’s daughter and Julia’s niece, Emma Rose Roberts is also an actress as well as a designer and a singer-songwriter. She is known for portraying the character of Addie Singer in Unfabulous, a television series in Nickelodeon. She also acted in movies like Wild Child, Hotel for Dogs, The Winning Season and Valentine’s Day among others.
