I Ching is more than three thousand years old and originated during the Zhou Dynasty. It is an ancient Chinese system of divination. It uses the principles of Yin and Yang to talk about the changing patterns of life.

In this method of divination, usually 3 coins are tossed while the person concentrates on the question he or she wants an answer to. However, one can also toss forty-nine yarrow sticks instead of the coins. Once the toss is done, they result in a formation of hexagram consisting of 6 lines wherein three lines are broken and three lines are solid.
