To adjust the speed, first read the operating and manufacturer’s instructions very carefully. All the brands of lawn mowers come with a user manual. Before trying to do anything, ensure that the mower is switched off. Locate the adjustment screws. These are usually located at the bottom of the float valve bowl and at the carburetor barrel. With the help of a screw driver unscrew them. Turn on the engine for few minutes to let it warm for some time. If the speed has to be increased, turn the adjustment screws in the counterclockwise direction and to reduce the speed, turn the screws in the opposite direction. Assemble the things back the way they were after the adjustments are over.
