Most vitamins and minerals used for skin care do not work well when exposed to UV rays of the sun. However, when these skin care products are used in the night, their efficacy is enhanced. The best position for the skin is sleeping on your back, as it prevents formation of wrinkles. When a person sleeps on their back, the facial muscles are in a relaxed and neutral position. So creases and lines do not form. If the skin gets creases and lines, over a prolonged period of time they result in wrinkles and fine lines.
A person should avoid sleep in the fetal position or on the side. Sleeping on a fetal position wrinkles the skin on the face, causing early aging of the skin. Those who sleep on their sides end up pushing their face against the pillow, which unnecessarily stretches the skin and leads to wrinkles.
