Mental health is a term that is used to encompass several mental health related problems. It can be something very simple or something quite serious.
Most of the serious problems like autism, schizophrenia, epilepsy, Down’s syndrome, ADHD, and bipolar disorders are all inherited or caused due to a brain injury. Also, there is no proper cure for such disorders. One can only manage the disease.
However, in some cases several mental disorders can be prevented. For example, a pregnant mother who smokes and drinks alcohol excessively puts the child at risk for all these disorders. So, if they avoid such habits well before their pregnancy starts, the chances of these problems occurring are minimized.
Giving children a proper and healthy diet also helps to avoid such problems in adulthood. Some problems like stress, anxiety and depression, which are normal and can occur in anyone, should be handled more positively through exercise and healthy lifestyle. If a person exercises, whether or not they are sick, they can easily avoid stress and depression. When they are faced with such situations, they will have the mental strength to handle it. If a person is mentally weak, then they are more prone to depression and stress. Today, these two are the most common ailments to strike people. People handle jobs, home, travel, children and they also try to out perform in all areas of life. There is economic, financial, relationships and interpersonal skills to handle. So, everyone lives highly stressful lives and this causes a lot of stress on a day to day basis.
