Is there a relationship between eating raw food and mental health? This relationship is still under research, but there are several indicators which prove that there may be a relationship.

How does raw food help exactly is still unknown, but improvement in children with mental health problems has been noticed.First of all we need to understand what exactly raw food is. Raw food is mostly uncooked or less than semi cooked food. Raw food promoters basically believe that any food that is heated above 115 degrees is not worth eating, and they can even cause damage to the body. They believe that food loses all its beneficial enzymes after being heated, and it becomes toxic if cooked more. Foods that are ideal as raw foods are vegetables, fruits and nuts.

Mental health problems are of several kinds like stress, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, cognitive problems, epilepsy, depersonalization disorders and several more. All of these disorders have various causes and treatment protocols. Most of the treatment measures include exercise and diet as a part of the treatment plan. Coming to raw food, most vegetables have some or the other benefit like some are good for the liver, some are good for the brain, while others have a lot of proteins. When a person eats raw food, he or she gets full benefit of the vitamins and minerals. There are some acids like Omega 3 fatty acid and folic acid which can be obtained only from foods. While even meat has some of these essential acids, raw food enthusiasts believe they have negativity attached to them. However, when these acids are consumed from fruits and vegetables, they have more benefits.
