The terms, “body image” and “women” are almost synonymous. Almost all the women, not only in America, but around the world develop consciousness about their own body and its type at some point of their lives. Some of them are happy and content with the kind of body they are blessed with, while most others are unhappy with their structure.
There are several reasons for the dissatisfaction of most women about their own body. The most obvious factor is the growing number of so-called “perfect” models and stars that we grow up seeing and admiring with. While some get depressed seeing them and then comparing with their own figure, others strive hard to achieve that kind of body for themselves. Most of the women these days are impatient and that causes them to take drastic measures to attain the desirable body. These drastic measures may include going under the knife or going through near starvation-like diets. These produce dangerous results too, in most cases.
The consciousness as well as awareness about the so-called “body image” stems out from their early, adolescent lives. That is the time they start reading and learning about new things then they draw rash conclusions from them which in turn, shapes their confidence level as well as self-esteem. Because this is the time they are at their vulnerable best (or rather, worst). They are open to new ideas and generally do not think before taking any actions. Thus, at this point their parents should teach them to love their body the way they are and make them understand the mechanism and the importance or normal bodily functions. Then as adults, they would be less likely to go for attaining thin and lean body with the help of desperate measures and also would feel more confident about themselves.
