As parents, it is natural and also inevitable to be worried about a toddler's learning activities. Playing and learning activities designed for toddlers should have fun elements and should also be stimulating. Above all, they should be able to teach the toddler different things.

Playing time is supposed to be one of the very important components in the development of a child. Research goes to prove that all the areas in development are improved with the child’s playing activities. Growing with good health and overall development of a child is stimulated by play right from birth through the schooling years. Children are known to play with various toys in various ways. Every activity affects the development differently.

Newborn babies and infants are known to enjoy social play style, which makes up their trust while they are preparing to explore the world. Babies intermingle with their parents and also care givers as they go through the process of learning to bond with loved ones and understand the basics of human emotions. Social games such as peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake are a couple of common playing activities for toddlers and older babies.

During the growing years of children, playtime plays the biggest contributor in the healthy growth of large muscles. They develop their motor skills as they crawl, walk and run. Children in pre-school and school age bracket develop in social, emotional, cognitive and physical aspects as they get involved with outside play. Childhood games like hide and seek, red rover, games of tag etc are some of the good activities for encouraging healthy development.

Constructive play comes very common across children in preschool. A child involving himself constructively would create something from his activity. This includes things such as doing art, playing with blocks or involving in a puppet show. Group constructive plays teach them about team work.
