How Does Acupuncture Work ?

In acupuncture, needles are used to pierce pressure points in the body which are known to relieve pain, stress and anxiety in the person.

It is believed that acupuncture helps in stimulating the immune system. It can increase blood circulation and promote the production of red and white blood cells.

It helps in many ailments like high or low blood pressure, thyroid, diabetes and many more. It can also help to regularize hormone production in the body so that it is stronger. According to the history of acupuncture, it is believed that the human body has tiny holes in the body which allow access to certain channels within the body. Using these channels, pressure can be applied with the help of needles to influence the body parts that are suffering and help them recover by passing on more energy and regularizing the blood flow to it.

One theory related to acupuncture believes that pain passes in channels or gates inside the body moving from one gate to another. As the pain progresses, it goes to higher levels like the spinal chord and the brain. The nerves running in the body are like the road or the high way where they can handle only a certain number of signals during one period of time. By generating faster signals the slower signals can be blocked. Pain signals are considered to be slower ones because they take over slowly.

Acupuncture can generate faster signals that progress at a speed and stop the pain signals. Also, it is believed that acupuncture works on the electromagnetic field of the body to provide relief.
