Complaints About Dental Implants

Dental implants are expensive, but more of a permanent solution for your teeth problems. However, like any other dental procedure, even a dental implant is not without its problems.

A dental implant is installed by placing an artificial tooth root on which a cap is installed. Most of the dental implant procedures are done under the effects of local anesthesia.

It is not a painful procedure and if all goes well, the patient should be done with it in a few hours of time. The procedure is not painful while it is being performed. However, when the effect of anesthesia is wearing off, patients start complaining of pain. At that point, the dentist prescribes antibiotics and some painkillers for the next few days.

Some of the complaints that are common about the dental implants are during the adjustment stage. One of the crucial factors governing the success of a dental implant is the jaw bone. If the jaw bone is strong, then the healing process will also speed up. Another big challenge with the dental implant is its integration. If it does not integrate well, then it will lead to infections. The bone has to adjust to the foreign material without causing any infections or pus in the area. The success rate of dental plants is very high, and is as much as 85 percent. Another problem may arise with a badly made dental implant. The dentist has to make sure that the dental implant is an exact fit for your tooth. Otherwise, you are in for deep trouble as the implant will never set right, and you just have to continue with it.
