Herpes Simplex Type 1:

Cold Sore        Herpes Simplex Type 1 virus infects the facial area and sores that develop are commonly referred to as cold sores. The first sign of oral herpes outbreak is usually a tingling sensation in the area of the skin which then turns red. This red area then develops red sports which turn into blisters filled with fluid. The fluid filled blisters eventually break and fluid that comes out of the blisters is full of millions of herpes virus cells making this the most contagious phase.

Herpes Simple Type 2 :

What Does Herpes Look Like ?     Herpes Simple Type 2 virus causes herpes in the genitals. However, oral herpes can be transferred to the genitals and vice versa. Though the chances are rare, care must be taken when you are infected with herpes.

Many people mistake oral herpes to be pimples. However, this is not the case. Women experience discharge from the vagina. Many people get flu-like symptoms along with fever, headache and sensitivity to light.

Herpes sores vary in size from 1 mm to more than 2mm in diameter. These blisters are filled with clear fluid which eventually burst and they appear soon after the initial symptoms. Herpes sores do not extend deep into the skin. In fact, the sores are right on skin surface and they scab over after they burst.
