The blood is made up of several types of cells, and triglycerides are one among them. Having high levels of triglycerides actually translate to having high LDL cholesterol.
There are two types of cholesterol, namely HDL and LDL and among these two LDL cholesterol is considered as the bad type of cholesterol. LDL can lead to several complications like heart diseases and heart attacks. The triglycerides over a period of type convert themselves into LDL. This is one of the most common reasons for heart diseases and strokes in people. This type of cholesterol comes mainly from the food we eat and our own habits. If a person eats a lot of processed and packaged foods, or eats unhealthy or fried foods, then they are highly prone to high cholesterol. People who eat only meat are also highly prone to getting high cholesterol.
Some other underlying causes for high levels of triglycerides could be a bad family history also. If people with a family history of high cholesterol are not careful about their diet, then they are more prone to getting it. A person suffering from liver disease cannot afford to have high cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides. Liver performs the function of breaking down red blood cells and purifying them. Blood that has high amounts of triglycerides is more difficult to break down for the liver and if there is a problem in the liver, this process does not happen. This directly doubles the chances of suffering from a stroke or a heart attack for the person.
