Cirrhosis is a term that is used to define a group of diseases related to the liver. In this syndrome, the normal cells in the liver are damaged, and they are replaced by scarred tissue.

This reduces the normal liver tissue. The scar comes in the way of the flow of the blood, and also hampers several functions of the liver.The liver fails to perform certain critical functions in the body leading to several problems. It stops producing hundreds of enzymes, which enable many body functions, including digestion and growth of the body. Liver plays an important role in regulating the hormones also. Cirrhosis is taken as a serious condition by the doctors.

Cirrhosis is a difficult condition to diagnose in the earl stages. Only after it advances, are the ill effects of the condition tend to become apparent. There are no early symptoms using which the condition can be diagnosed. Some of the symptoms that crop up as the disease advances are severe weakness causing fatigue and also weakness in muscles. In addition, there is loss of appetite experienced by patients. Some people experience itching and abdominal pain. Even bloating is a side effect of cirrhosis.

One of the classic symptoms of cirrhosis is spotting spider-like vein structure visible to the human eye on the outside of the skin. In advanced stages, the patients experience severe vomiting and weight loss. If the disease advances, the patient reaches the final stages which are almost fatal in most cases. The earlier the symptoms are diagnosed, the better for the person who is living with it.
