Would strength training reduce breast size? Well, this is a question that many women ask as they are under the misconception that by lifting weights, their breast size will reduce and they will end up looking like men. However, this is not true.
If you do strength training to develop your pectorals, your breast size will not reduce. On the contrary, the exercise will improve the tone of the muscles under the breast tissue and you will have the appearance of having bigger breasts.
There are female bodybuilders who have small breasts but this is because they use steroids and this causes the breasts to shrink. In addition, having extremely well developed chest muscles and less body fast can make a woman's chest appear flat and sculpted rather than rounded. But strength training does not reduce breast size. It tones your body, including your chest muscles. If you do lose body fat, the loss will be proportionate throughout your body and this may affect the size of your breasts.
Remember breasts are made up of fatty tissue and primarily doing strength training will not decrease your breast size. By doing training, the fat tissue in your breasts will not turn to muscles giving you a masculine look.
As mentioned earlier, when you do strength training, you will lose body fat and this loss is all over your body. This can cause a reduction in breast size. However, you have to understand that your breast size will only reduce significantly if your body fat is very low. However, this does not happen in most cases, especially if you are not a professional or competitive bodybuilder.
