Metallic sodium is used in chemical industry, and paper and petroleum sectors too. It is also used to purify metals like zirconium. Sodium compounds like common salt, baking soda and sodium nitrate are all formed by sodium. Common salt, which we use in our daily kitchen, is made out of sodium compounds. It is basically a blend of sodium and chlorine. It really adds that thing in daily food preparations. It is also used to get rid of insects and termites. Most often it is sprinkled on the top and borders of shelves and cupboards. Sodium that is obtained from common salt definitely has more of a negative impact than the rest. Most people suffer from blood pressure due to consumption of excess salt.
