Pain In Stomach Before I Eat

There may be different types of stomach pains, that occur at different times and which may have many different causes. Sometimes people complain of stomach ache before the meals, sometimes after the meals, and some people have such severe stomach pain that they cannot think about anything else beyond their pain.

While stomach pain after eating maybe associated with the kinds of foods we eat or there may be some kind of indigestion or acidity which may be the cause of such pain. Some times people get severe stomach ache which wakes them up from their sleep, this kind of a condition may actually be quite serious. But when people get stomach ache before they eat, may be caused due to peptic ulcers. Interestingly this kind of a pain is known as the hunger pain.  Stomach ache caused due to ulcers can even travel to the back.

This kind of pain or the hunger pain may not need much treatment but may be relieved when the patient eats something or takes an antacid. The patient should also consume lots of water. When a patient suffers from pain due to ulcers, he may also be able to hear a sloshing sound in the stomach and this is more prominent when the patient is lying down or changing positions.

Patients suffering from peptic ulcer pains may need to see a doctor if they have other symptoms like fever, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing. But if the condition is under control with the use of antacids, then it may not be a cause of concern.
