Symptoms Of Progressing Ectopic Pregnancy

For a woman of childbearing age who has been sexually active, if any of these following symptoms appear, it should be suspected that it can be ectopic pregnancy. She must go for immediate check up.

The first symptom of progressing ectopic pregnancy to know is the pain in the lower tummy area. It can start suddenly. It can be on any side and persistent. Shoulder tip pain is the typical of ectopic pregnancy. If the pain does not subside with paracetamol, it can be a symptom for the suspicion of ectopic pregnancy. If there is pain in the bowel movement or in urination, it can be also a sign of ectopic pregnancy. If there is feeling of tight headedness or fainting, with a feeling of something wrong, paleness, mounting pulse rate, sickness, diarrhea, unusual periods, or any unusual bleeding, it can be a sign or symptom of progressing ectopic pregnancy.

Even normal pregnancy features like nausea, painful breasts, swollen breasts, missed or prolonged period cannot rule out the possibility of ectopic pregnancy.

These are all symptoms to suspect ectopic pregnancy. A woman should get alerted if any one of these appears in the early stages of the pregnancy. She should immediately consult her doctor, who will run relevant tests to confirm ectopic pregnancy.  

Specialized hCG tests only can confirm the ectopic pregnancy. There is many a specialized Early Pregnancy Assessment Units set up throughout the country. Ultra modern transvaginal scans (TVS) are a great asset in the confirmation of ectopic pregnancy. Even the treatment of it has become relatively easy due to the laparoscopic procedures.
