Natural Home Remedies For EczemaEczema is a medical condition related to the skin, characterized by the tenderness of the skin accompanied by the occurrence of pustules. In extreme conditions, a fluid is released from these pustules, which could be infectious in nature. The causes of eczema include allergic reactions caused due to consumption of certain foods such as eggs and milk or contact with laundry detergents, perfumes and dyes.
The predominant signs of this skin condition include extreme itching, presence of erythematic papules or small vesicles throughout the body and discharge of fluid from the vesicles. Treatment is most effective if the precise cause of the disease is identified. Apart from the conventional methods of treatment, there are various natural home remedies that may prove beneficial in reducing the symptoms of the disease.
Wheatgrass is well known for its natural antiseptic qualities, therefore application of its juice on the affected area and drinking 50 milliliters of it, twice daily is a good cure for eczema. Since coconut oil also has healing power, therefore boiling a few cloves of garlic in it, sieving the oil and applying it on the skin once cooled is also an effective remedy. Washing the affected area with a decoction prepared from boiling some neem leaves in a little bit of water works well. Another decoction that is beneficial in this disease is the one prepared by boiling the powder of the 3 myrobalans, namely Indian gooseberry, harad and baheda. Cleaning the diseased skin with this decoction provides relief from the condition. Mustard seeds are also considered advantageous in cases of eczema. A paste prepared from its seeds is filled in the stem of Euphoria neriefolia (snuhi), which is thereafter covered with clay and cooked. After cooling, one is required to combine this with mustard oil and finally apply it on the affected part of the body.
