Chronic illnesses are those that last a long time, may be continuous or may appear intermittently. It limits what a person can do and never goes away. There are hundreds of chronic illnesses from diabetes and asthma to heart attacks and lung disease. Such diseases may not be contagious but are generally inherited. Such a person needs to take care of himself and sometimes has to do certain things which would be superfluous in other normal people. They will have to devise ways and means to keep healthy.
