Parents Conflicting Views On Immunization

When we hear the word immunization, we immediately associate it with protection against diseases for our children, but it may be surprising to know that there are actually conflicting views on the immunizations.

There are a set of parents, who believe in completing the immunization cycle for their kids and who swear by the regular immunization. On the other hand, there are set of parents, who question the need as well as the safety of such vaccines. There are a series of childhood vaccines that give protection against diseases such as Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Hepatitis, and Chicken Pox. One would definitely that it is with the help of such vaccines only that small pox has been completely eradicated.

There are few arguments against childhood vaccinations. There is a section of the society which believes that childhood vaccinations have increased cases of autism, childhood asthma and diabetes. Another problem associated with the vaccines is that the number of vaccines given to children makes them vulnerable to diseases like asthma and diabetes. However, studies have been conducted on the safety of childhood vaccines and there is no evidence to support that autism or asthma or diabetes increases on account of these vaccinations.

It is the sole responsibility of the parents to give a safe and secure future to their kids and vaccinating them against the childhood diseases is just one way of ensuring their safety. For those who don’t have faith in these vaccinations, they might speak to some pediatricians as well some parents to gather knowledge about these vaccines and to put their doubts at rest.
