They were also healthier, more active and there was a progress in all spheres of the rats' health. The same thing was tried with humans at a later point of time where some people volunteered to go on a low calorie diet. It was found that these people lost a considerable amount of weight and after some tests it was found that their heart was more supple and flexible. The heart was in a much better shape and by having a flexible heart as a muscle in the body, the chances of stroke or cardiac diseases are minimized. The possibility of a longer life is clear with a low calorie diet in people.
