  • It allows a woman to check out other alternatives

Cons:

  • The scar from the mastectomy will be visible prominently
  • The person will have to have another surgery and as a result will spend more time recovering
  • Reconstructing the breast could be complicated if the person has extensive scarring of the tissue
  • The cosmetic results may not be that good
