One of the most interesting things about any poodle is that its hair can be styled in various manners. And, each style is unique and different lending a great look to any poodle. Let us discover some of these hair styles in detail.
Continental Clip - This one is the traditional hair style. You would have noticed the poodles in this style in different dog shows. In this style, particularly the dog’s face, throat, feet and hind regions are shaved and also some portions of the tail. The balance portion of hair in the tail, ankles and hips are fluffed to form a pom-pom.
English Saddle Clip - It is almost comparable to the Continental style. The only difference is that the hair from the poodles head to the waist side is left full. The legs on the front are shaved and pom-poms are not made at the ankles. The hair on the legs at the back is given a form of three pom-poms that meet each other closely.
Utility Clip - This is also termed as kennel clip. It is a common and the standard form of clipping which are mainly given to those poodles who do not take part in the dog shows. In this type the face, feet and the base of the tail all are shaved very closely. The rest of the hair is, however, is clipped with the help of a pair of scissors to a very short length.
Lamb Clip - It is another form Utility clip in which the hair on the legs are left as fluffy. As usual the hair of the face, feet and the tail are shaved, just like it is done in the Utility clip. The pom-pom is made at the end of the tail. The total length of the hair is longer in the Lamb clip as compared the Utility clip.
