There is one common disease that mostly affects goldfish is Ichtyopthirius which is normally termed as Ich. You can identify this disease if you notice tiny little fuzzies on the scales. Sometimes these go undetected because from far they either appear as a bubble or something gentle. Iches are parasites in reality that tend to live away from the fish. If they mange to enter the fish tank some how, then they can harm the entire aquatic life.
You should be careful when you buy a new fish. Check its body thoroughly for such infections. Also, it is essential to inspect the fish tank water on a regular basis.
One more common goldfish disease is the fin rot or the tail rot. This disease occurs due to bacterial infection in an already injured site. Once the bacterial infection begins, it gradually consumes all the tissues leading to death.
