While his “Bad Boys” did remarkably well in 1995, it was “Independence Day” and “Men in Black” in 1996 and 1997 that took a full circle with both being the highest grossing movies ever made.
Going by the success, "Men in Black II" was made in 2002. He became the biggest star overnight with these successful movies. Then his movies started releasing every year. He played the role of the famous legend Mohammad Ali in “Ali” in 2001. His movie “Bad Boys” was also made again as part II in the year 2003.
While 2004 had two of his movies, “Shark Tale” and “I, Robot”. It was in the year 2005 that saw Will Smith playing a romantic in a comic role, which was a box office hit.
Will Smith's next role in “The Pursuit of Happyness” in 2006 was the worldwide smash once again. “I Am Legend” made over 700 million dollar worldwide and it was released in 2007 end. In 2008, Will Smith then came out with the release of “Hancock” on July 2 and this film grossed over 600 million dollars worldwide. His next movie “Seven Pounds” is all set to release in December 2009.
With his movies almost grossing over 100 million in the US, it is no wonder that Will Smith is on the “A” list.
