Jennifer Garner And Children

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, prominent Hollywood stars, have been married since 2005. The couple shares two daughters named Violet Anne Affleck and Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck. Apart from being deeply involved in the upbringing of her daughters, Garner per se is very passionate about children, a personality trait that has driven her to a bigger social cause towards helping children of the weaker financial strata.

Feeling rather strongly about providing all children equal opportunities especially during the formative years, Jennifer joined hands with the endeavor of 'Save the Children' in the United States as an Artist Ambassador. This organization looks into the needs of children all over the world, in almost 110 countries. The division in the US deals with early education, literacy, nutritional and disaster relief programs. As part of the profile, Garner in particular focuses on early education programs.

Her association with the organization 'Save the Children' took her to California’s Central Valley area in the year 2009 to obtain a first hand experience with the reality of living in poverty. The vice president and managing director for Save the Children's U.S. Programs, Mark Shriver and Garner together met a poverty stricken mother, Ysenea in public housing in Farmersville. Garner not only listened to her agony, but also interacted with her one year old son, Xavier. During her stay, she emphasized on playing educative games with the child that would help his cognitive development.

Soon after this trip, Garner visited the Sheridan School in Orange Cove. The school provides children access to books, which is otherwise not possible for them in normal circumstances. They are allowed to keep a set of books with them for a time period of two weeks. The actress read poems to toddlers during her interactive session with them.
