Tyra Banks was born in Los Angeles, United States on 4 December, 1973. Her family was a loving and supportive one. She could not get the company of both her parents as her parents got divorced when she was just 6 years old. In spite of all this, Tyra had a very nice childhood. As a child Tyra was constantly ridiculed because she was very tall and very thin. She claimed that she looked quite awkward. |
But things changed for the better as she entered high school. She decided to become a model, and for this she started working hard in order to shed off her skinny physique. Finally Tyra became a model and her goal was achieved.
It was not easy for Tyra to fulfill her dream. It was a struggle for her initially as four of the modeling agencies she approached initially seemed uninterested in her since they thought she did not have the face to become a model. But Elite Agency was the one, with which she finally signed a contract. She was just seventeen years old then and she went to Paris, and was a part of big namesm including Chanel and Ralph Lauren. In order to do so, she had to give up her college education and eventually she returned to the US to continue modeling. Later, she also acted in some television shows and some movies.
Her favorite foodstuff comprises of barbecued ribs and fried chicken wings. She also loves ice cream and junk food. Besides these, she loves to play tennis and basketball apart from exercising.
