Roger is the current number one tennis player in the world. He is also considered to be best player in the history of the sport.
Although Roger's native language is Swiss German, he also speaks three languages -- English, German and French. When he hold press conferences after matches, he is comfortable addressing the media in any of the languages spoken by him.
Federer’s current home is in Oberwil in Switzerland, where he resides with his wife and former WTA player Mirka Vavrinec, and their twin baby girls Charlene Riva and Myla Rose. Federer’s wife is a Swiss national, who had to retire from tennis due to a foot injury in 2002. Federer had met Mirka during the Olympics held in Sydney in 2000. Both of them were there to represent Switzerland.
Federer is also a philanthropist, and helps underprivileged children in the African continent through his foundation, the Roger Federer Foundation. Also, when the tragic tsunami affected Asia in 2004, Roger launched many charitable projects to help the affected. Federer played a number of games in tournaments that were organized solely for the purpose of raising money for the victims of tsunami. He had also put up rackets autographed by him for auction, the proceeds from which were donated to help UNICEF with its relief operations.
