George Washington was not only known as a president but he was more popular due to his devotion towards his duty and more importantly his nation. Given below is brief description of all the important events that happened in his life one after another:

George Washington Timeline:
1732: George was born in Virginia on February 22.
1748: He started off working as a planter
1749: He then got a job of a surveyor.
1752: George got an opportunity to work as an adjutant general with the Virginia militia.
1754: He was given the post of a lieutenant colonel leading an expedition towards Fort Duquesne.
1759: He got married to Martha on 6th January.
1775: The continental army was formed by the Congress and he was appointed as the Major General. He then got elected as the Commander in chief.
1776: British tried capturing New York and won several battles including this one.
1783: George resigned on 23rd December.
1787: He got elected as the president of the Convention.
1789: He was elected as the president with 100 percent votes.
1795: Signed a treaty with Britain called the Jay Treaty which helped to start the process of peace in the region. 
1797: He retired as the president in the month of March.
1798: He was appointed as the Commander in chief of all the armies.
1799: George Washington died on 14th December 1799 because of an acute laryngitis along with pneumonia. He was 67 years old at the time of his death.

George Washington is known for his selfless services to his nation and people still remember him as one of the greatest human beings ever born.
