He was elected as the president on 30th April 1789 from New York City and thus took his office. He was an able leader and administrator who never missed any single opportunity of his nation’s progress. Washington got elected for his second term to serve as the president of the state in the year 1792. The following year brought several issues due to the political as well as personal conflicts that occurred within the cabinet. He also agreed making peace with Britain in order to develop his nation commercially and in the year 1794, signed the Jay Treaty which settled out the differences between these two nations.

Not only he was active during his president ship alone but he also knew that the people coming after him would need a much stable political set up. By the time he retired in 1797 from the post of president, the financial system of the state had established very well which showed his excellent management skills as a leader. Despite the fact that George Washington was not brought up in a well versed wealthy family, he managed to reach up to this position on the basis of sheer hard work and this quality was even evident during his president ship.
