Napoleon And Religion
Napoleon and religion were closely interlinked as Bonaparte had great faith in God despite the fact that he had to face a lot of criticism. He had quoted several personal views on religion that are quite often followed by people. Napoleon once said about religion that as far he was concerned, he never ever believed that someone like Jesus ever existed on this Earth, but as there are several people believing these things, it is not good to oppose these people. While some other times his statements indicated that he strongly believed in Christ. This is what led to criticism faced by him as his views contradict each other. |
His views kept on changing with time but he was always very inclined towards religion and quoted several statements in its favor. He also said that he considered religion to be quite a useful stuff as it helped keep people quiet. Although he was an influential person, he used to make several statements regarding his opinions about religion and every time he quoted something, had to face various challenged from people.
He said that there have several people including him who might inspire others to become big in life in such a way that people must be ready to anything for them but for this they need to be present in front of the people. He quoted that Jesus Christ was the only one who managed to do so without being present among people and people still can even die for Christ. This was something commendable and this is what drove his religious views.
