Prince Harry Biography
Prince Harry was christened Henry Charles Albert David Mountbatten - Windsor on 31 December 1984 at St George’s Chapel by the Archbishop of Canterbury. He is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. He is third in line to the British throne. He is the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. |
Like his brother, Harry attended Jane Mynors’s nursery school in West London. He then went to pre-prep Wetherby School, and later to Ludgrove School in Berkshire. He then attended Eton College and completed college in 2003
Prince Harry then took a gap year, visiting Australia and Africa. In Australia, he worked on a cattle station and in Africa he worked in an orphanage.
In May 2005, the Prince entered the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He was known there as Officer Cadet Wales instead of using his royal title, and was a part of Alamein Company. He successfully completed a 44-week training course as an Officer Cadet, before being commissioned in April 2006 as a Second Lieutenant in the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals).
Harry’s actions have led to unusual media attention. In 2002, it was revealed that the prince had admitted to smoking marijuana and under age drinking. His father took him to a drug rehabilitation center and educated him on the danger of drugs.
Prince Harry’s only serious romance has been with Chelsy Davy. She is Zimbabwean born and heiress to an African ranching and real estate fortune. In an interview conducted in 2005, Harry referred to Chelsy as his girlfriend.
