- In order to change the size of the icons on your desktop, just select the icon, hold the Ctrl button and use your mouse to scroll down. This will immediately increase the size. You can use the same trick to increase the font size.
- If you have many Word documents open, you can go from one document to the next by using a combination of Ctrl and F6.
- Vista has a magnifier that makes it easy for you to see the screen without straining your eyes. All you need to do is press the Start button on your keyboard along with U and then use the command Select Magnifier. The Start button on the keyboard is the one between Ctrl and Alt with a flag on it.
- If you are constantly upgrading your operating system and want to keep a track of all the upgrades, all you need to do is go to Start, Control Panel, select Windows Upgrade and then click on View Upgrade History. This enables you to see all the recent upgrades that you have installed on your computer.
- You can change the audio notifications in Vista to visual ones. This can be done very easily by going to Start and typing Ease in the search box. Once you press enter, you will reach the Ease of Access Control command. From this select Use Text or Visual Alternatives for Sounds and then place a tick mark on the Turn Visual Notifications for Sounds. Thereafter, select the option Choose Visual Warning and then press Save to save your selection.
