Here are some grilling steak techniques that will ensure that you steak is just perfect with all the juices and flavor in tact.
One must pre-heat the grill to a high temperature. But the meat needs to be placed only after the heat has been brought down to medium. This way the flavor and texture of the meat is maintained. The steaks should be turned only once to get grill marks and to be cooked evenly. Generally when the grill temperature is 160 degrees, the steak is cooked for minimum 9 to 12 minutes, and maximum for 12 to 15 minutes.
There is another way of grilling steaks. Here you need to marinate the steak in a marinade that not only enhances flavor but also helps to tenderize the meat. Red wine, vinegar or dark beer can be used in the marinade.
If the gas grill is used, then one burner should be on high flames and the other on medium to low. The steak should be place on the hot side of the grill for 2 minutes, and then on the medium grill for 7 to 8 minutes.
In case a charcoal grill is used, one should build fire in just half of the pit. Once the charcoal becomes white after completely burning down, the steak should be placed on hot side of the grill for 1 to 2 minutes. Then the steak should be turned over and the other side should be cooked for another 1 to 2 minutes. Later the steak needs to be placed on the cooler side of the grill for around 7 to 8 minutes to cook it completely.
