Roasting Garlic Heads In Oven
Garlic is eaten for its good nutrition level; some people consume it everyday for its ability to add flavor to foods. In fact, garlic is one of the most common toppings. Garlic can be served in a variety of ways, and one of the most common is roasting garlic.
For roasting garlic, some heads of garlic are required along with enough olive oil to cover most of the garlic and aluminum foil. To start roasting, first peel off the outer layer of the clove of the garlic and cut away 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the top of the pointed end of the clove, carefully exposing the clove, which should not be separated, and only the outer layer of the clove has to be cut away.
Next step is to place the garlic heads in the baking pan. Now start pouring olive oil on the garlic and make sure the garlic is nicely coated. Cover the garlic with aluminum foil. Now start heating the garlic at 350 F for about 35 to 40 minutes or more, until the cloves turns soft to touch when pressed.
Allow the garlic to cool down for some time, and when that is done, slightly peel off the clove skin of each clove and gently squeeze the clove to release the garlic. Roasted garlic can be consumed with breads, baked chicken, soups, pasta and a wide variety of foods, adding flavors to them. Roasted garlic is considered to be one of the best toppings for baked potatoes, but you can also enjoy this delicious topping when served on its own.
