How To Make A Latte Macchiato ?

Latte macchiato are an Italian innovation. These are extreme popular the world over nowadays. Latte macchiato means, “Spotted milk” in Italian and appears exactly like one. This beverage has several layers mixed proportionately with each other providing a perfectly layered drink.

These drinks are extremely easy to prepare at home. You need not rush to the nearby shop to indulge in one each time. Spare a few minutes and prepare one at the comforts of your home.

You will need:

  • Whisker
  • Flat pot
  • Espresso machine
  • A long glass for serving
  • Milk

Pour required quantities of milk in a flash pot and heat until milk becomes hot enough. However, do not over heat or let the milk boil over. Stir continuously with a whisker until you notice formations of dense foams on top. Pour this in a long glass. Use a ladle to separate foam from steamed milk below.

Prepare an espresso with an espresso machine. Pull a perfect shot of espresso into an espresso cup. Pour this carefully into the glass filled with milk and froth. You will notice formation of lovely layers separating from each other. Never pour milk into an espresso cup. This will result in complete intermingling of layers and will not give you a perfectly layered beverage.

Garnish the drink with chocolate or cocoa powder. You can also flavor the milk with chocolate or hazelnut syrup. If you have used the latter, garnish the drink with powdered hazelnuts and serve immediately. Try out different flavors that suit you taste buds. Enjoy!
