Natural Progesterone Guide

If you are looking for natural progesterone guide, then look no further. Here you will find all the relevant information pertaining to natural progesterone and it will make it easy for you to decide whether this natural progesterone is right for you or not.

Usually, progesterone is produced by the ovaries when a woman ovulates. It helps in thickening the lining of the uterus and preparing it for implantation of the fertilized egg. Natural progesterone is extracted from plants like wild yam and soybeans and is available in the form of a cream.

This natural progesterone cream has to be used topically from where it is absorbed by the subcutaneous fat and then fed into the bloodstream. This helps in balancing the levels of progesterone in the body and preventing a miscarriage from happening.

In hormone replacement therapy, artificial progesterone is used to balance out the level of the hormone in the body. This therapy is mainly used for pre-menopausal women who are experiencing pre-menopausal symptoms like dryness of the vagina, depression, night sweats, hot flashes, moodiness and irregular menstruation. However, studies have found that hormone replacement therapy can lead to cancer of the breast and cardiac problems. Hence, this kind of therapy is no longer advocated. So, now, instead of hormone replacement therapy, women are advised to use natural progesterone that can be purchased over-the-counter without any prescription. All the woman has to do is rub the cream topically on the arms, legs, stomach or breasts and from there it enters the body and helps to alleviate the symptoms of pre-menopause.

The natural progesterone cream is also recommended for women suffering from post partum depression. This depression occurs when the placenta is expelled from the body after the birth occurs. Until the fetus is within the womb, the placenta produces progesterone for the survival and growth of the fetus.

If a pre-menopausal woman is using progesterone, the recommended dosage of natural progesterone is around 15 mg to 24 mg per day and the cream should be used fourteen days before the onset of the menstrual period and it should be stopped on the day that the woman expects the menstrual period to begin.

If post menopausal woman is using the cream to alleviate post menopausal symptoms, then the woman should use around 15 mg of the cream each day for around 25 days in a month.

The recommended amount of the cream is around 20 mg of the cream per day and this works out to around quarter teaspoon.

Natural progesterone is also available in oral form. However, most of this progesterone is metabolized by the liver and hence, in order to get 15 or 24 mg of the hormone on a daily basis, the woman would have to take around 200 mg to 400 mg on a daily basis. However, this high amount of progesterone is not recommended.
