Mango trees grow from a seed, and in rare cases they can be propagated too. However, propagation is very difficult. Mango needs the perfect climate to grow, and it has to be hot.
It is a tropical fruit. Mango tees grow really tall. So you should make sure that you are planting the seed in the middle of a sunny spot. There are two ways you can start off actually. One is to get a plant from the nursery and another is to get a seed and plant it. Getting a tree is easier. The benefit of growing a tree from a seedling is that the tree grows much bigger, and also bears more fruit. Nursery trees are usually grafted. So, they may not be the perfect tree that you have been looking for.
Plant the mango seed when it rains in summer or when the season is generally rainy. Also, make sure you dig a two feet deep hole, and then plant the seed upright. Prepare the soil with ample manure and make it healthy prior to planting the seed. You can also sprout the seeds separately and then plant it. It may take two weeks for germination.
Once the tree grows fairly tall, put mulch around it. As the tree grows taller, it will depend less on nitrogen. Never over water the plant, or it will die soon. A mango tree grows well and bears the best fruit when it is directly under the sun. If there is any other tree surrounding it, then the tree will not benefit from it.
