People tend to think that the number of carbohydrates in watermelon is more. So, they may put on weight if they eat watermelon.
Actually the carbohydrate content in a watermelon can get quite confusing. Those who are trying to lose weight, or lose belly fat should actually move to a watermelon diet. There are certain kinds of carbohydrates like the one that are derived from rice which are harmful for health. However, not all the types of carbohydrates are bad.Watermelon is rich with watery nutrients and most of the carbs are from there. These are easily soluble in the blood and give instant energy. There is absolutely no fat in a watermelon. Watermelon is from the squash family like papaya, squash and cantaloupe. One single watermelon can weigh close to hundred pounds. Watermelon is high in antioxidants, and it is also high in Vitamin C. It is also known to control the free radicals found in the body due to smoking, sunlight and the ones caused due to stress. Free radicals cause diseases like cancer, arthritis, heart diseases and also promote aging. Vitamin C delays aging, and Vitamin A present in the watermelon is a rich source of beta carotene. In addition, watermelon also has lycopene, which is beneficial for the skin. Lycopene is also effective in controlling various types of cancer like breast cancer, colon cancer, endometrial cancer and even lung cancers. Additionally, the fruit contains other vitamins and minerals like vitamins B6 and B1, magnesium and potassium which are required by the body everyday.
So, basically watermelon is an extremely healthy fruit, and it will not make you fat.
