Food tastes much better when we season them with herbs and spices. They add a great flavor to anything that is being made and also they have several curative properties. Also, cooking becomes an enjoyable experience when we start using spices and herbs.

There are several varieties of herbs and spices that we can use, and each culture or country in the world uses different herbs. For example, Italian seasoning uses herbs like basil, thyme, rosemary, parsley, oregano and a range of other ones. They even use garlic, lime and ginger in various preparations. Some people use herbs in their dried form, and some of them use it fresh. For example, Indian cooking uses a lot of cilantro and they even cook meats and vegetables in a paste made out of the herbs. Rice can be cooked by using spices like clove, bay leaves, cinnamon as they all add a distinct flavor to the rice. Even saffron is used to flavor rice in many countries.

In case you want to know how to use herbs, then look up the name of the herb and see where you can add them and whether there are any specific recipes that use such herbs. However, some of the herbs like garlic, shallots, parsley can be used in cooking everyday. It can be used as a part of a salad or it can be used in your main course as garnish for the meat. You can also use cloves and cinnamon when you prepare the stuffing.
