They are crunchy and delicious. You can prepare salty pumpkin seeds at home. They do not take much time or effort.
You will need a medium seized pumpkin. You can also store the seeds of used up pumpkins for this purpose. Either way, scoop out the seeds from the fleshy inner membranes of the vegetable. Remove the thin sticky membranous layers that are attached to the seeds. Wash them thoroughly in water. Meanwhile pre heat the oven at 400°F. Next, use a saucepan for initial boiling. Add water and seeds in the ratio of 2:0.5. That is, add two cups of water to each half cup of the seeds. Then, add one tablespoon of salt and allow the water to boil. Simmer for ten minutes and remove from the flame. Drain the water completely.
Coat the cookie sheet with a tablespoon of olive oil. Place the seeds in a single layer. Make sure the seeds are not sticking together. Place the tray inside the oven (on the top rack). Bake the seeds for twenty minutes or till you find the seeds turning golden brown. Remove the tray from the oven and allow the seeds to cool completely. Your salted crunchy pumpkin seeds are ready!
