How To Grow Wheat ?
Wheat is extensively grown and consumed the world over. If you are planning to cultivate wheat, remember that this crop requires a lot of attention and care. Any negligence can cause serious and irreparable damage to the crops leading to extensive financial losses. Optimum climatic conditions and water are crucial for its growth and survival. |
A large vacant land is ideal for wheat cultivation. Firstly, prepare the soil; make it smooth with the help of a rake. Next, use a shovel and dig deep trenches in narrow vertical lines. You can also use a tractor for this purpose. Either way, make sure the trenches are deep. After you have prepared the soil, add sufficient quantities of fertilizers. This will nourish the soil and enrich it with essential nutrients helping wheat crops to flourish. However, remember to read the instruction carefully.
Now liberally sprinkle wheat seeds in a pendulum or a semicircle motion. If the area is too big, you can use a tractor for sowing them. Wheat requires huge quantities of water and absorbs them at a very rapid rate. So watering the fields constantly is necessary. During summer seasons, you would have to water at least 2 to 3 times per day. They grow excellently in dry climatic conditions. Nevertheless, make sure the soil is moist enough or the plant may wither and die. They are easily prone to diseases and fungal attack. Sprinkle pesticides and insecticides whenever necessary.
When the stem turns yellow, you can use a scythe in order to cut out the wheat kernels.
