How To Make Pickled Okra ?

Okra is basically a summer vegetable that has a lot of pods. You can eat them plain or toss them into your salads. Either way, they taste quite good. And if you want your okra even in winter months, then the best option is to pickle it.

To make pickled okra, you would need okra, salt, oil, vinegar and garlic cloves. Once you have the ingredients ready, wash the okra and wipe them dry. Put the okra into glass jars. Put in a few drops of oil and salt to taste. Heat the vinegar and pour them into the okra packed jar. Seal the jars tightly and keep them in the refrigerator for a couple of days. This allows the okra to season fully. The jars that you are using to store the pickled okras need to be sterilized before hand in boiling water. And they should be completely dry before you use them to pickle the okra. However, at the same time, you need to make sure that you do not cool the jars. This means that the jars have to dry and hot at the same time in order to pickle the okra.

If you want to improve the taste of pickled okra, you can also add chilly peppers in them. To ensure that the pickled okra has a long shelf life, use only fresh okra for pickling. You also need to make sure that the jars are properly sealed and are completely air tight. Otherwise, the pickle may start to form fungus. If you want your pickled okras fresh and crispy, you need to make sure that they are stored in a cool place in an air tight container.
