Each one of us knows that rhubarbs are sour and are used by many people in making desserts. So, here is a rather easy recipe that will teach you How To Make Rhubarb Crisp ?. The ingredients in the recipe are mentioned separately for the topping and filling. |
Ingredients for the topping are as follows:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, depending on what you prefer
The ingredients for the filling are as follows:
4 cups of cubed rhubarb stalks
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 cup water
Mix all the ingredients for the topping in a large bowl. Keep the butter or margarine for the end. Now gently add the butter or margarine and mix until the texture of the ingredients becomes crumbly. Divide this crumble into two parts. Take one part of the topping mixture and press firmly into a pan. The pan size should be around 8x8. Keep aside the other half for the topping.
Mix the filling ingredients together, namely the chopped rhubarb stalks, sugar, flour, water and cinnamon. Once the ingredients are mixed properly, pour it on the crust that you prepared earlier. Then take the crumble that you set aside and spread it over the filling.
In the mean time, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Insert the baking pan with the rhubarb crisp into the oven and bake until the top becomes golden brown. Remove the baking pan and allow your rhubarb crisp to cool down until it is warm but not hot. Serve with whipped cream.
