Anthrax is a type of disease caused by the anthrax bacteria which is mainly found in animals. However, the disease also affects people when we come in contact with the bacteria. Anthrax does to prevail in the urban areas. Only where there is more livestock and animals are allowed in herds to move freely the prevalence of anthrax is more. Human beings can get anthrax if the eat the meat of the infected animal or even come in close contact with an infected animal.

However, if anthrax is not treated promptly, then the symptoms may go away in a few days, but they return with a stronger force and kill the person. The person suffering from anthrax in its severe form will become unconscious and then could die. It is very dangerous to get to this stage.
Anthrax was being used as a biological weapon by some countries. However, after they learned about the possible damages caused by anthrax, the United States home security takes additional precautions to screen for biological weapons.
Vaccinations are available to prevent anthrax and it has to be taken thrice over a course of three months. Anthrax is caused by bacteria called Bacillus anthracis. These bacteria live freely in certain kinds of soil. It produces spores and these spores can survive in the soil for several years. Anthrax is prevalent all over the world and it is more common in countries that lack proper hygiene conditions.
