The level of self esteem is often judged by our own health and condition. Mental conditions like depression, compulsive disorders will always damage your self- esteem and prevent you from thinking good. It requires very little effort to maintain a high self-esteem and it is constantly hammered by your efforts. There are many ways through which your self-esteem can get damaged.
The foremost reason is personality and one’s personality can play a very important. We idolize our relatives, family and friends in a way that their personality is attached to our mind. If you have undergone some pretty bad experiences in your childhood, it will always hamper your self esteem. You will tend to become a person who does not believe what others try to tell you and make your own conclusions.
Factors such as parents divorce, illness, abuse, painful events will always create an obstacle in your life, provided you remain to think positive. You try to remain safe by indulging in some safe behaviors like keeping mum and avoiding people. These behaviors will only destroy you more.
Hence, at such times try to avoid meeting people who constantly crib and talk negative. These people are surely going to affect you in a long run. Mingle around with kids and discover some new hobbies which require you to think positive. Do not ever try to harm yourself in the process as that would make things much worse. Get involved in activities which ensure maintaining effective communication. Plan your goals and alarm yourself every now and then. Try complimenting people as and when you can. Start meeting people only when your mind is fresh and open.
