Ginger and honey mixture is an age old therapy that works wonderfully when treating dry coughs. You can consume this mixture at least three to four times a day. Many people avoid it, but gargling with warm water is something which gives instant relief from the cough. A pinch of salt can be added to the water and even a little amount of decoction of henna leaves.

Another method for getting some relief from dry cough is by sucking onto a freshly peeled piece of ginger with a pinch of salt. Place the ginger between the teeth and keep sucking the juice that comes out of it. The ginger juice helps in relieving an irritating throat.

To do away with dry cough instantly, add at least one ounce of turmeric powder in one teaspoon of honey. Take this mixture about three times in a day until the cough goes away. The famous herbal tea prepared with green tea leaves, ginger extract, and basil leaves is an excellent method to get relief from dry cough. Instead of sugar add a teaspoon of honey for sweetening the tea. You may also add a little bit black pepper powder and drink this tea while it is still quite hot.
