The B class of visas is meant for visitors to the United States who want to reside in the United States for a period of 90 days. The sub classes in this type are B1 and B2. B2 is typically for the spouse of the main applicant.
The K1 type of visa is for people who are intending to marry an American citizen. It also allows a person to meet their fiancé (or fiancée) in the United States before the wedding takes place.
H 1B visas are issued to people who want to work in the United States. This is the most common type of visa to be issued and nearly sixty five thousand of them are issued every year for people from different nationalities all over the world.
Student visas are usually F1, M1 and J1 visas and the visa is issued based on the duration of the course the student has been accepted for.
